Bone scan carried out using labelled phosphanates show dense areas of increased activity when performed after I.M. injection of dextran. This is due to formation of labelled complexes within the tissue.

Iron deficiency where oral admin is unsatifactory.

Anaphylaxix,reports of sarcoma at site of injection. Urticaria, arthalgia,malaise, fever, lyphadenopathy exacceberatn of malaria, tuberculosis and other infections. Exaceberation of rhematoid arthritis

I.M. injection: Sterile abcess and discoloration of skin.

I.V. injection: Peripheral vasodilatation, pruritus, muscle pain, local phlebitic reaction.

Hypersens to ingredients. Acute phase of infectious kidney disease, iron storage disease. anaemia associated with ineffective erthropoisis, marrow hypoplasia, sideroblastic anemias and other nutritional anaemias not due to iron deficiency. Previous hypersns and acute infection.

Special precautions:

I.M. should be administered deep into gluteal area using the Z-track technique I.M. vial only for I.M. use.

I.V. inj must be preceded by a test dose Acute inflammatory disease of bowel, renal failure, hyperthyroidism.

Indications: Iron deficiency where oral admin is unsatifactory.

Dosage: Estimate iron as per formulae available.
