VITAMINS AND FLUORIDE- SYSTEMIC
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
Fluoride. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic to
any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Fluoride occurs naturally in water and has not been shown to cause problems
to infants of mothers who drank fluoridated water or took recommended
dose of supplements.
3. Breast-feeding-
Small amounts of fluoride pass into breast milk , however, problems have not
been with documented with normal intake.
4.Children-
Doses of fluoride that are too large or are taken for a long time may cause
bone problems and teeth discoloration in children.
5.Older adults-
This dietary supplement has not been shown to cause different side effects
or problems in older people than it does in younger adults.
6. Other medicines-
When you taking multiple vitamins and fluoride it is especially important that
your doctor know if you are using any of the following-
Anticoagulants - use with vitamin K ( in multi-vitamin and fluoride preparations)
may prevent the anticoagulant from working properly.
Iron supplements- use with vitamin E ( in multi-vitamins and fluoride preparations)
may prevent the iron supplement from working properly
Vitamin D and related compounds- Use with vitamin D ( in multi-vitamin and fluoride
preparation) - may cause high blood levels of vitamin D which may increase the
chance of side effects
7. Other medical problems-
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of vitamins
and fluoride. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical
problems especially-
Dental fluorosis - fluorides may make the condition worse.
