Reduced gastric motility interferes with absorption of other drugs

SHORT SUMMARY-
OXYPHENONIUM BROMIDE
Indication- Peptic ulcer, Gastritis,Hyperacidity Dose- 5mg tablets 1-2 tablets 4 times daily
CI- Glaucoma,Pyloric obstruction, Obstructiveg-i disease
ADR- Tachycardia,blurred vision,drowsiness,headache,dry mouth
SP- Diarrhoea may be early sign of incomplete intetinal obstruction, delay in gastric emptying time in gastric ulcer patients

Adjunctive therapy in the treatment of peptic ulcer
Adverse Reaction:
Arrhythmias(especially after M.I.).
Dryness of the mouth, difficulty in taking/swallowing, reduced bronchial secretions, blurring of vision, photophobia, bradycardia followed by tachycardia and arrhythmias, retension of urine, constipation, vomiting, nausea, confusion, giddiness.
Contra-Indications:
GIT/urinary outflow obstruction,paralytic ileus,myasthenia gravis.
Special Precautions:
Children, elderly, BHP, inflammatory bowel diseases, cardiac failure, hypertension, thyrotoxicosis.
