Indication:
Allergic ocular disorders
Adverse Reaction:
Very rare,brochospasm, laryngeal oedema and anaphylaxis. Nausea, headache, dizziness, unpleasant taste, joint pains, skin rashes, aggravation of asthma, pulmonary infiltrate and eosinophillia.
Inhaltion of powder: Bronchospasm, wheezing, cough, nasal congestion and irritation of throat.
Intranasal use: Transient irritation of nasal mucosa. Sneezing and epistaxis(occasional).
Eye drops: Transient burning and stinging.
Contra-Indications:
Known sensitivity to bezalkonium chloride.Do not wear soft contact lenses during treatment.
Special precautions:
Do not use contents of bottle after 4 weeks of opening.,Gradual withdrawal.

Patient Information:
Inhalation-
1.Do not discontinue therapy abruptly except on advice of physician
2.For inhalation use only, do not swallow the capsule
3. Notify physician if coughing or wheezing occurs.
Oral-
1. The effect of therapy depends upon administration at regular intervals as directed.
2.Take at least half an hour before meals. Do not mix with fruit juice, milk or foods.
3. Drink lot of liquid.
4. Allergies- Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reactions to cromolyn or other related medicines. Also tell your doctor if youn are allergic to any other substances such as foods, preservatives or dyes.
5. Diet- make certain that your doctor knows that if you are onspecial diet, such as low sodium diet. This medicine contain sodium.
6. Pregnancy- before using this medicine make sure that your doctor knows if youare are pregnant or if you may become pregnant.
7. Breast feeding- mothers who are taking this medicine and who wish to breast-feed should dicuss this with their doctor.
8. Children- not reported to cause different side effects or problems in children than adults
9. Elderly- this medicine is not expected to cause different side efects or problems in older people than it does in younger adults.
10. Other medicines- tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following- any other prscription or non- prescription OTC products
11. Other medical problems- tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems- Kidney disease or Liver disease - the efects of cromolyn may be increased which may increae the chsmnce of side effects.
12. Missed dose- If you miss a dose of this medicine take it as soon as possible. However if it is almost time for your next dose go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
13. Storage- Keep out ofreach ofchildren Store away from heat, in tightly closed cotainer Do not store the capsule form of this medicne in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. Do not keep outdated medicines or medicines no longer in use. Make sure that all discraded medicines are kept out of reach of children.

Cromolyn is an antihistamatic, antiallergic and mast cell stabiliser. It has no intrinsic bronchodilator, antihistaminic, anticholinergic, vasoconstrictor or anti-inflammatorty activity.
Pharmacokinetics:
After inhalation, about 7 to 8% is absorbed from the lung and is rapidly excreted unchanged in bile and urine
