For the management of pruritus due to allergic conditions such as
chronic urticaria, and atopic contact dermatoses and in histamine-
mediated pruritus
Adverse Reaction:
CNS depression,paradoxical CNS stimulation(chidren), dry mouth, thickened respiratory secretions, constipation, urinary retension, blurring of vision, bradycardia,followed by tachycardia and arrythmias, GI disturbances,blood dyscrasias, headache, giddiness, hypotension, tinnitus and confusion.
Contra-Indications:
Pregnancy,lactation,neonates,obstruction of GIT,urinary outflow,paralytic ileus.
Special precautions:
Renal impairment,nmay impair judgement and dexterity.
Lactation,CVS disease, glaucoma, epilepsy, peptic ulcer,BHP.

Dosage:
Oral Adults- 50 to 100mg 4 times a day.
Children(Below 6 years)- 50mg in divided doses. Children(above 6 years ) 50 to 100mg/day in divided doses.
