Indication:
Dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis of scalp, tinea vesicolor.
Adverse Reaction:
Hair loss,discoloration, oiliness or dryness, local irritation, sensitization. Systemic absorption with long term use and application on broken/inflammed skin, symptoms include garlic like odour of breath, metallic taste, anorexia, vomiting weakness, fatigue, hyperflexia and tremors.
Contra-Indications:
Inflammed/damaged skin, young infants and children
Special precautions: Avoid contact with eyes, infection of scalp (increased absorption).
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications:
Dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis of scalp, tinea vesicolor.
Dosage:
Massage 5 to 10 ml of medicated shampoo into wet scalp. Allow to remain on scalp for 2 to 3 minutes and rinse throughly. Two applications each week for 2 weeks will afford control.
Patient Information:
1. For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not use on acutely inflammed skin.
2. If iritation occurs, discontinue use.. Throughly rinse after application.
3. May damage jewellry; remove before using.

Selenium sulfide appears to have a cytostatic effect on cells of the epidermis and follicular epithellium, thus reducing corneocyte production.
