Drug Interaction:
Potentiation of other myleosupressive drugs.
Anti-emetics,sedative administered prior to mustine reduce nausea and vomiting.
Reduces absorption of many drugs given orally.
Adverse Reaction:
Myleosuppression. Bone marrow depression, Severe nausea and vomiting, Tinnitus, vertigo, Deafness, Maculopapar rashes, Temporary or permanent inhibition of fertility, Headache, Hallucinations, Convulsions, Paraplegia and tremors, Jaundice(occasionally) Topical application: High incidence of hypersentivity.
Contra-Indications:
Severe leucopenia/thrombocytopenia, anaemia, co-existing infectious granuloma, pregnancy, I/M injection.
Special precautions:
Frequent blood counts. Extravasation during injection causes severe local reaction and tissue necrosis.
