Adverse Reaction:
G.I.upset, mylagia, allergic skin reactions.
Alopecia (rare), lowers affinity to haemoglobin for oxygen.
Contra-Indications:
Advanced liver disease, primary biliary cirrhosis.
Severe renal insufficiency.
Nephrotic syndrome/hypoalbumenemia.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Special precautions:
Monitor response regularly & terminate therapy if adequate response is not achieved within 3-4 mths.
Caution in children.
Concomitant oestrogen therapy. If cholestymine being combined two drugs must be seperated by atleast 2 hours.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:

200mg 3 times daily after food
