Pharmacology/ Pharmacokinetics:
Pharmacology:
Hyaluronidase, a protein enzyme, is a preparation of highly purified bovine testicular hyaluronidase. The exact chemical structure of the enzyme is unknown.
Hyaluronidase is a spreading or diffusing substance which modifies the permeability of a connective tissue through the hydrolysis of hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide found in the intracellular ground substance of connective tissue, and of certain specialised tissues .
The rate of diffusion is propionate to the amount of enzyme.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Pregnancy:
It is not known whether hyaluronidase can cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women. Use only if clearly needed.
Lactation:
Excercise caution when hyaluronidase is administered to a nursing woman.
