Drug Interaction:
Corticosteroids
cautiously administer parenteral fluids, especially those containing sodium ions, to patients receiving corticosteroids or corticotropin.

Adverse Reaction:
Febrile response, infection at injection site, tissue necrosis venous thrombosis or phlebitis extending from site of injection, extravasation, hypovolemia, hypervolemia, dehyration mental confusion or unconsciousness. Hypertonic solutions are more prone to cause irritation. Administer into larger central veins.
