Drug Interaction:
Camylofin should be co-administerd with caution in patients taking amantadine, quinidine, and tricyclic antidepressants
Camylofin may affect reaction time so that the ability to drive in traffic or to operate machinery may be influenced .
The action of alcohol may enhance this effect.
Indication:
Intestinal colic
Biliary colic
Dysmenorrhoea
Adverse Reaction:
Adverse effects due to camylofin include dryness of the mouth,
dizziness and drowsiness, vertigo,
dilation of the pupils resulting in intolerance to brightlight,
dryness of the skin transcient bradycardia followed by tachycardia
difficulty in passing urine and reduction in the tone and motility of GI tract laeding to constipation
The toxicity of camylofin is low.
A comparison of LD50 with ED50 (median effective dose producing antispasmodic effect) in various species of animals demonstrated a wide margin of safety ie a therapeutic ratio of 1:40 to 1:150.
Contra-Indications:
Narrow angle glaucoma,
Prostatic obstruction Paralytic ileus orpyloric stenosis
Ulcerative colitis Megacolon
Asthma Tachyarrhythmias During pregnancy or during nursing period
Contraindicated in patients with known sensitivity to Diclofenac
Special Precautions:
Peptic ulceration and gastrointestinal bleeding have been reported in patients receiving diclofenac It is recommended that patients be maintained on the lowest dose of diclofenac possible, consistent with receiving a satisfactory theapeutic response.
Pregnancy: In late pregnancy, diclofenac should as with other NSAIDs be avoided because it will cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus.

Pharmacology:
Camylofin di Hcl has both atropine and papaverine like action and hence reliable anticholinergic and myotropic action It has wide margin of safety, it is well toerated (even after prolonged use) and does not produce habituation or addition.
Interaction with Food:
The rate of absorption is not significantly affected when diclofenac potassium immediate release is taken with food
Pregnancy and lactation:
Contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation
