Drug Interaction:
May interfere with immune response of live measles vaccines, live mumps vaccine, live rubella vaccine.
Therefore these vaccines should not be given to at least 3 week before or 3 mth after immunoglobulins
Indication:
Control of hepatitis A. Prophylaxis against hepatitis A in uncompromised patients
Adverse Reaction:
Dizziness, light headedness, nausea, vomiting, allergic and cutaneous reactions Local pain and tenderness at the injection site of IV admin may lead to systemic effects such as headache, chills and fever
Contra-Indications:
Prior hyperensitivity feactions to immunoglobilins, blood or other blood-derived preparations
Special precautions-
Increased risk of ARF in patients with renal impairment , hypovalemia, overweight , concomittant nephrotoxic medicinal products or > 65 yrs High infusion rate may increase risk of adverse reactions.
Ensure adequate hydration prior to IV infusion of immunoglobulin Monitor urine output and serum creatinine levels Avoid concurrent use of loop diuretics Live vaccines should be generally be given 3 wk before or 3mth after admin of normal immunglobulin
