Contra-Indications:
Special Precautions-
Hepatic function impairment- special population not studied. An initial clevidipine infusion rate of 1 to 2 mg/h is appropiate for these patients
Renal function impairment- In patients with moderate to severe renal impairment treated with clevidipine, an initial infusion rate of 1 to 2mg/h was found to be appropiate.
Rebound hypertension- patients who receive prolonged clevidipine infusions and are transmitted to other antihypertensives should be monitored for the possibility of rebound hypertension for at least 8 hours afterr the infusion is stopped
These patients may need follow up adjustments in blood pressure control

Dosage-
Initiate the intravenous injection IV infusion at 1 to 2mg/h Dosage may be doubled at short ( 90 second ) intervals initially
As the blood pressue approaches the goal, the increase should be less than doubling and the time berween dose adjustments should be lengthened to every 5 to 10 minutes
Maintenance dosage- desired thereapeutic response for most patients occurs at doses 4 to 6mg/h
