Allergic Conjuntivitis
Adverse Reaction:
Adverse reactions reported is less than 5%-
Ophthalmic - burning, dry eye, foreign body sensation, and ocular discomfort
Miscellaneous- headache, rhinitis, and cold and flu symptoms were reported in 10 to 20%.
The side effects were generally mild.
Contra-Indications:
Hypersensitivity to any components in the product.
Special Precautions/ warnings-
Administration is for topical ophthalmic use only. Not for injection or oral use.
Pregnancy- Should be used during pregnancy only if the benefit outweigh the risk.
Lactation- Excecise caution if administered to a nursing woman.
Children - safety and efficacy not established in children below 3 years of age.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indication-
Allergic Conjuntivitis
Dosage-
Recommended dose is 2 drops in each affected eye 4 times daily.
Symptomatic response to therapy ( decreased itching ) may be evident in within a few days,
but subsequently requires longer treatment up to 4 weeks
Store - at 15C to 25C ( 59 to 77F)
Patient Information:
1. For topical application only. Not to used orally or for injection.
2. Do not touch the eye lids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip. Keep the bottle
tightly closed
3. Patients should be advised not to wear contact lenses if their eyes are red.
4. Pemirolast potasium should not be used to treat contact lens related irritation
5. Patients who wear soft contact lenes and whose eyes are not red should be instructed to wait atleast 10 minutes after instilling pemirolast potassium before they insert their contact lenses.
