Indication:
Simethicone Orally disintegrating strip 62.5mg
Indication -
For the treatment of flatulance and as an adjuvant in hyperacidity
Approved by FDA on 14-11-2010 (Ref- FDA approved List- 2014)

Adverse Reaction:
Most frequently reported advere events-
Nausea, vomiting . Orange colored stools may occur.
Cardiovascular - bradycardia, hemotoma, hypertension, pallor, palpitations, tachycardia
CNS - hypertonia, somnolence
GI - diarrhea, eructation, nausea, vomiting, dysphagia, dry mouth, melana
Respiratory - pharyngitis, rhinitis, epitaxis, pneumothrax, sinusitis
Miscellaneous - abdominal pain, headache, rash, asthenia, fever, malaise, neck pain,
pelvic pain, pain, hypoglycemia, dysuria
Contra-Indications:
Known or suspected intestinal peforation and obstruction , allergy to the active ingredients
Special precautions-
Aspiration- . The ingestion of SCCS may cause vomiting that could be associated with aspiration take precautions to avoid aspiration.
Peritoneal tissues - the efects of SCCS on human peritoneal tissues are not known.
GI effects- SCCS effects associated with nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Patients who a current history of hital hernia ,esophageal reflux, nausea , vomiting, or abdominal pain may not able to tolerate SCCs.
Fluid shifts-Give SCCS with caution to patients who cannot tolerate lagre fluid shifts and who are on specific fluid intake requirements
Pregnancy- use in pregnancy only of clearly needed.
Lactation- excecise caution when administering to a breast feeding woman.
Children - safety and efficacy inchildren have not been established
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indication -
For the treatment of flatulance and as an adjuvant in hyperacidity
Diagnostic ultrasound imaging agent
Dosage -
recommended dose is 400ml administered orally over 15 minutes .
Take after fasting for at least 4 hours
Begin abdominal ultrasound imaging within 10 minutes after completing the ingestion of SCCS
Patient Information:
1. Instruct patients who are to receive SCCS to inform the physician it they are regnant or
breast feeding.
2. Inform patients that -
- SCCS is used for ultrasound imaging of the abdomen.
- SCCS can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain or discomfort
- For most patients complete elimination of SCCS occurs within 24 hours
- Feces may appear orange colored until SCCS is completely eleminated
3. Ask patients whether they are able to drink approximately 400ml over a 15-minute period.
4.Ask patients if they have hiatal hernia or problems with regurgitation when they lie on their
back after eating.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Pregnancy-
