Nifedipine, ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II antagonists, octreotide, other hypoglycemics
Salicylates, sulphanamides, quinine , quinidine, growth thyroid hormones, danazol,
Diazoxide, clonidine, lithium, asparaginase, nicotinic acid, anabolic steroids,
oxymethaolone, isonazid, phenothiazines
Adverse Reaction:
Hypoglycaemia, hypokalaemia , odema,
Injection site reactions ( inculding lipodistrophy )
Visual disturbances
Sports events- Restricted /banned
Contra-Indications:
Special precautions/Warnings-
Severe hypoalbuminemia,
Patients transferred to human insulin should be adviced that the early warning symtoms
of hypoglycemia may be less pronounced than with insulins from an animal source
Change in strength, brand, type, origin and or method of manufacture may require
change in dosage.
Dose changes may be required with infectin, stress, excercise , trauma, surgery,
and at puberty
Renal or hepatic impairment,
Elderly, Pregnancy, lactation

Indication-
Diabetes
Dosage-
Adult and children over 2 years by s.c. inj once or twice daily in combination with
meal related short or rapid acting insulin
Dosage according to individual requirements
In combination with oral antidiabetic agents, Initially 10 iu or 0.1 -0.2iu/kg once daily
Titrate dose according to individual requirements
Pregnancy and lactation:
Excercise caution while using pregnancy and lactation
