Drug Interaction:
Antihypertensive effects of hypotensive agents may be reduced
May increase cyclosporin levels
Increased risk of seizures with fluroquinolones
May reduce efficacy of diuretics
May diminish cardioprotective effects of acetylated salicylates
May increase lithium levels/toxicity
Severe bone marrow suppression, aplastic anemia,
and GI toxicity may occur with methotrexate
Adverse Reaction:
Odema, palpitation, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, vertigo,
pruritus, skin eruption, ecchymosis, purpura, rash,
fluid retention, abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, heartburn
diarrhoea, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, stomatitis, flatulance,
indigestion, ulcers, abnormal renal function
Contra-Indications:
Hypersensitivity
Aspirin or NSAIDs allergy,
Perioperative pain in settiing of CABG surgery
Pregnancy ( 3rd semester )
Special Precautions/warnings-
Pre-existing CV factors, or disease eg fluid etention, CHF , hypertension,
History of GI disease ( bleeding or ulcers )
other forms of asthma,
hepatic impairment
Closely monitor patients with abnormal LFT
Renal impairment
Elderly
Lactation
