Indication:
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes.
Adverse Reaction:
Hypersensitivity-
No allergic sensitivity or toxic reactions have been noted in clinical use when used
as directed
However, a case of systemic manifestation of hypersensitivity to collagenase in a patient
treated for more than 1 year with a combination of collagenase and cortisone has been
reported
Contra-Indications:
Local or systemic hypersensitivity to collagenase
Special Precautions/Warnings-
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes.
Cleansing materials such as hydrogen peroxide , Dakins solution and normal saline was not confined to the wound. Therefore apply the ointment carefully within the area of the wound.
Eryhthema - a slight transcient erythema has been noted ocassionally in the surrounding
tissue, particularly when collgenase ointment was not confined to the wound. Therefore,
apply the ointment carefully within the area of the wound.
Children- safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established
Pregnancy- no information available regarding collagenase on pregnant women.
Lactation- no information regarding collagenase in breast feeding woman.
Monitoring- monitor debilated patients closely for systemic bacterial infections because
the theoretical possibilty that debriding enzymes may increase the risk of bacteremia
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:

Collagenase ointment should be applied once daily( or more frequently if the dressing becomes soiled as from inconitinence)
