Tinidazole -
Synergism with ampicillin , doxycycline and co-trimoxazole
disulfram -like reaction with alcohol
Fluconazole -
Rifampicin reduces fluconazole levels
increases concentration of hypoglycaemics
Theophylline- reduces theophylline clearance
Oral contrceptives- affects effects of oral contraceptives
Sulponylureas and phenytoin- may raise serum concentration of oral sulponylureas and phenytoin
Cyclosporine- cyclosporine levels may be increased
Warfarin- effects of warfarin and other anticoagulants may be increased
Cisapride- increased risk of cisapride toxicity
Aztemizole , cisapride or terfenadine- cardiac arrhyhtmias with aztemizole , cisapride or terfenadine
Indication:
Vaginal Candidiasis
Adverse Reaction:
Metallic taste, nausea, headache, vomiting, rash ( rare)
Thrombophelbitis at inj site, leucopenia, abdominal pain,
diarrhoea, flatlutance, elevated liver function values
rash, exfoliative dermatitis,
rarely, angioedema, anaphylaxis, facial and laryngeal edema,
hypotension, bronchospasm, hepatotoxicity,
very rarely , stevensons syndrome
Contra-Indications:
Hypersensitivity,blood dyscarasias, organic neurological disorders
pregnancy, lactation
Special Precautions-
Renal or hepatic impairment
Avoid alcohol
