Adult- 6g per 24 hours

Initial dose - one half of the 24 hour dose
Maintenance dose - 150mg/kg or 4g/m2 divided into 6 doses every 24 hours
Younger than 24 months of age -
sulfisoxazole is contraindicated for use in children younger than 2 months of age,
except in the treatment of congenital toxoplasmosis as adjunctive therapy with pyrimethamine
