Dosage-
Adult- 6g per 24 hours
Child- 
2months of age and older-
Max- 6g per 24 hours
Initial dose - one half of the 24 hour dose

Maintenance dose - 150mg/kg or 4g/m2 divided into 6 doses every 24 hours
Younger than 24 months of age -
sulfisoxazole is contraindicated for use in children younger than 2 months of age,
except in the treatment of congenital toxoplasmosis as adjunctive therapy with pyrimethamine

Shake the bottle well before administering dose.
Instruct patients to maintain an adequate fluid intake to prevent crystalluria and stone formation.
