Dosage-
For infiltration and nerve block
Adults - recommended dose serve only as a guide to the amount of anesthetic required for most
routine procedures. The actual volume and concentration to be used to be adjusted based on
the requirements

Maximum individual dose is 7mg/kg ( 3.5mg/lb) of body weight but dosing may differ depending
on indication and if it is used without epinephrine

Maximum total daily dose is 500mg but may differ depending upon indication and if it used without
epinephrine

When used without epinephrine the maximum dose is 4.5mg/kg ( 2mg/Ib ) in general but
the dose  should not exceed 300mg

Cardiac arrhythmias-
Uisual dosage- 50 to 10mg administered intravenously IV at the rate of approx 25 to 50mg/min
Administer under ECG monitoring. Allow a sufficient time to enable a slow circulation to carry the
drug to the site of action.
