Hypovolemic shock
Dosage-
The total dosage may vary with individuals. In adults an initial infusion of 500ml is suggested.
Additional amounts may be adminstered as clinically indicated.
Pediatric usage-
25% and 20% solution
Neonatal hemolytic disease - the admin of albumin ( human) 25% or 20% soultion may be indicated
prior to exchange transfusion in order to bind free bilirubin, thus risk of kernicterus.
A dosage of 1g/kg body weight is given about 1 hour prior to exchange tranfusion.
Caution to be excercised in hypervolemic infants
