Clioquinol - topical
1.For external use only
2.Sensitivity- in rare cases may irritate sensitized skin. If itching , redness,
irritation, stinging or swelling persists or increases , discontinue use.
3.May stain fabric , skin or hair
4.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you are have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
clioquinol, chloroxime, iodine, or iodine containing prparations . Also tell your
doctor if you are allergic to any other substances such as foods,
preservatives or dyes.
5.Pregnancy-
Clioquinol topical preparation, have not been shown to cause birth defects
or other problems in human
6. Breast-feeding-
Clioquinol topical preparations have not been reported to cause problems
in nursing babies
7.Children-
Clioquinol is not recommended in children under 2 years of age. Although
there is no specific information comparing the use of clioquinol in children
2 years or over with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected
to cause different side effcts or problems in children than it does in adults.
8.Older adults-
Many medicines have not been studied specifically in older people. Therefore,
it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in
younger adults, or if they cause different side effects or problems in older people.
Although there is no specific information comparing use of cloquinol in the
elderly with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected to cause
different side effects or problems in older people than it does in younger adults.
9. Other medicines-
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two
different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur.
In such cases your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions
may be necessary.
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
