Benznidazole- Systemic
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you are have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
benzinadole. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic to any other
substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans. WHO does not recommend the use of
benzinazole during the first first 3 months of pregnancy. However, this medicine
has done been shown to cause birth defects or other problems in animal studies.
3. Breast-feeding-
It is not known whether benzinadazole passes into breast milk. Although most
medicines pass into breast milk in small amounts,many of them may be used
safely while breast-feeding. Mothers who are taking this medicine and who wish
to breast feed should discuss this with their doctor.
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing benzidazole in in children
with use in other age groups.this medicine is not expected cause different side
effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older adults-
Many medicines have not been studied specifically in older people. Therefore,
it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way than they do in
younger adults, or if they cause different side effects or problems in older people.
There is no specific information comparing use of benzinazole in the elderly with
use in other age groups
6. Other medicines-
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two
different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur.
In such cases your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions
may be necessary.
When you are taking benzinazole, it is especially important, that your doctor know
that you are taking the following-
Alcohol- taking alcohol with benznidazole may cause unwanted effects such as
stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, headache, or redness of face.
Inflammation or painmedicine except narcotics, such as aspirin or
Anticoagulants(blood thinners) such as Warfarin (eg. Coumadin, Panwarfarin,
Warfilone) - taking aspirin or anticoagulants with benzinadole may incrase
the chance of bleeding
7. Other medical problems-
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of benzinazole.
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
especially-
Blood disease- or
Kidney disease or
Liver disease - patients with these conditions may have an increased
chance of side effects
