Botulinum Toxin Type A - Parentral Local
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
botulinum type A. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic to
any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans or animals
3. Breast-feeding-
It is not known whether botulinum type A passes into breast milk. However, this
medicine has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies
4.Children-
Studies of the medicine has been done only in adult patients and there is no specific
information comparing botulinum type A in children upto 12 years of with use in other
age groups.
5.Older adults-
Many medicines have not been studied specifically in older people. Therefore, it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way than they do in younger adults, or if they cause different side effects or problems in older people.
Although,there is no specific information comparing use of botulinum type A in the elderly with use in other age groups. This medicine is not expected to cause different side effects or problems in older people than it does in younger adults
6. Other medicines-
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two
different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur. In such
cases your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions may be
necessary.
Tell your doctor if you are using any other opthalmic prescription or
non-prescription (Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
7. Other medical problems-
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of botulin toxin type A.
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems especially-
Heart problems or other medical conditions that may worsen with rapidly increasing
activity- Treatment with botulinum toxin type A may give you a better vision and the
desire to become more active in your daily life, this may put a strain on your heart
and body.
Infection with clostridium botulinum ( botulinum poisoning)- persons with a history of
infection with Clostridium botulinum toxin ( botulinum poisoning) may have produced
antibodies that may interfere with botulinum toxin type A therapy and make it less
effective
