Chymopapain- Parentral -Local
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you are have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
chymopapain, papaya, meat tenderizer, contact lens cleaning solution, beer
or iodine. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic to any
other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans or animals
3. Breast-feeding-
It is known whether chymopapain passes into breast milk. Although most medicines
pass into breast milk in small amounts,many of them may be used safely while
breast-feeding. Mothers who are taking this medicine and who wish to breast feed
should discuss this with their doctor.
4.Children-
Studies of this medicine has been done only in adult patients and there is no specific
information comparing use of chymopapain in children with use in other age groups.
5.Older adults-
Many medicines have not been studied specifically in older people. Therefore,
it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in
younger adults, or if they cause different side effects or problems in older people.
There is no specific information comparing use of chymopapain in the elderly
with use in other age groups
6. Other medicines-
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two
different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur.
In such cases your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions
may be necessary.
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
7. Other medical problems-
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of chymopapain.
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have ever received an injection of
chymopapain , if you have had back surgery of if you have any other medical
problems especially-
Allergies or
Stroke or bleeding in the brain ( or if any member of your family has ever
had these problems ) or
High blood pressure (hypertension) - the chance of side effects may be
increased
