Adverse Reaction:
Depressant action on myocardium may occasionally be fatal. Bradycardia, lassitude, cold
extremities, GI and sleep disturbances, skin rashes, dry eyes (discontinue therapy).
Significant rise in triglycerides and VLDL. Reduction in HDL and ratio of HDL to LDL.
Contra-Indications:
Known hypersensitivity to drug and related derivatives, atrioventricular block of 2nd and 3rd
degree. Sick sinus syndrome, decompensated heart failure, clinically relevent sinus
bradycardia. Severe peripheral arterial circulatory disorders. Cardiogenic shock.
Special precautions:
Obstructive pulmonary disease. Heart failure patients should treat their decompensation before and during treatment. AV conduction disorders, bradycardia, peripheral arterial circulatory disorders, liver cirrhosis, phaeochromocytoma. Withdraw drug gradually when discontinuing.
Pregnancy, lactation,road users.
