Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Angina pectoris May be given without regards to meals Angina pectoris
Dosage-
Initial - 40mg a day Increase dosage in 40mg to 80mg increments at 3 to 7 day intervals until optium clinical response is obtained or there is a pronounced slowing of heart rate.
Maintenance dose- 40 to 80mg /day. up to 160 to 240mg /day may be needed Safety and efficacy of dosage beyond 240mg/day have not been established To discontiue reduce dosage gradually over 1 to 2 weeks
Hypertension- initial - 40mg once daily alone or in addition to diuretic therapy gradually increase dosage in 40 to 80mg/day until optium blood pressure reduction is acheived Maintenance- 40 to 80mg once . upto 240 to 320mg mg daily may be needed.
