For the treatment of Infection caused by sensitive organisms viz.
Lower RTI , Complicated UTI, Septicemia,Bacteremia
Adverse Reaction:
Nausea, vomting, diarrhoea, raised liver enzymes and creatinine.
Blood dyscrasias at inj site reactions.
Taste disturbances,
Hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis
Rarely superinfections, intestinal nephritis, renal failure,
pseudomembtaneous colitis
Contra-Indications:
Pregnancy and lactation
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Lower respiratory tract infection
Skin and soft tissue infection
Urinary tract infection
Bactericemia
Septicemia
1-2g every 12 hours by i.v. bolus over 3-5 minutes by i.v. infusion over 20-30 minutes
