SULFAPYRIDINE - SYSTEMIC
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
Sulfa medicines, furosemide or thiazide diuretics. Also tell your
healthcare care professional if you are allergic to any other substances
such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans. However, studies in rats have
shown that some sulfa medicines cause birth defects including cleft
palate and bone problems. Use is not recommended during pregnancy
3. Breast-feeding-
Use is not recommended in nursing women.
4.Children-
Use of this medicine is not recommended since dermatitis herpetiformis
( for which it is used) does not occur in children
5.Older adults-
There is no specific information comparing use of sulfapyridime in the
elderly with use in other age groups, this medicine is not likely to
cause different side effects or problems in older people.
6. Other medicines-
When you taking sulfapyridine it is especially important for your doctor
to know if you are using any other medicines.
7. Other medical problems-
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of sulfapyridine.
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems.
