Associated vascular insufficiency

Adverse Reaction:
G.I.Disturbances,tachycardia,hypotension,chest pain,nausea, vomiting,rash.Maternal pulmunary oedema following I.V.use,in premature labour reported.
Contra-Indications:
Presence of recent arterilal haemorrhage,severe anaemia,premature detachment of placenta.
Special precautions: Continous monitoring of BP during therapy.CVS disease.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications: Associated vascular insufficiency
Dosage:10 to 20mg 3 or 4 times daily.

ISOXSUPRINE - PERIPHERAL VASODILATORS
1.May cause palpitations or skin rash. Notify physician if these symptoms become particularly bothersome.
2.If dizzines(orthostatic hypotension) occurs,avoid sudden changes in posture.
3. Allergy- Tell your doctor if you had any unusual reaction to isoxsuprine or food substances, preservatives, dyestuffs etc.
4. Pregnancy- Isoxsuprine has not shown to any birth defects.However isosuprine given shortly before delivery may cause fast heart beat and other problems (low bood sugar, bowel problems ,low blood pressure) in the newborn.
5. Breast feeding- Isosuprine has not ben reported to cause problems in nursing babies.
6. Older adults- Not known whether it works exactly the same way as they do in younger adults. Isosuprine may reduce tolerance to cold temperature
7. Other medicines- Tell your doctor if you are taking other prescription or non prescription OTC medicines or if you smoke
8. Other medical problems- Make sure youtell your doctor if you having any ofthe followingmedical problems- Angina or Bleeding problems or Glaucoma or Hardening of the arteries or Heart attack or Stroke Recent- chance of side effects may be increased
9. Dosing- Follow doctors instructions
10. Missed dose- If you miss a dose of this medicine take it as soon as possible. However if it is almost time for your next dose go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
11. Storage- Keep the medicines out of reach of children Store the medicines away heat and direct light Do not store tablets or capsules in the bath room, in damp places near the kitchen sink Heat and dampness will cause the medicines to break down Do not store out dated medicines or medicines no longer needed. Make sure that all discarded medicines are kept out of reach of children

Pharmacology: A vasodilator acting primarily on blood vessels with skeletal muscle. In normal subjects,resting blood flow in skeletal muscle is increased.
