Indications-
Congestive heart failure where cardiac out reduced and filling pressure increased
Adverse Reaction:
Side effects-
Ectopic beats, less frequent ventricular tachycardia, or supreventricular
arrythhmias (more likely in patients with pre-existing arrhythmias)
hypotension, also headache, insomnia, nausea, and vomiting,
diarrhea, occassionally, chills, oliguria, fever, urinary retension,
upper and lower limb pain
Contra-Indications:
Cautions-
Heart failure associated with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, stenotic or
obstructive valvular disease or other outlet obstruction, monitor blood
pressure, herat rate , ECG , central venous pressure , fluid and electrolyte
status, renal function, platelet count, hepatic enzyme, avoid extravasation
Hepatic impairment-

Indications-
Congestive heart failure where cardiac out reduced and filling pressure increased
Dose-
By intravenous injection over 10 minutes either undiluted or diluted before use,
50mg/kg followed by intrvenous infusion at a rate
of 375mg- 750mg nanograms/kg/minute , usually upto 12 hours following surgery
or for 48- 72 hours in congestive heart failure , max daily dose 1.13mg/kg
