Indications-
Vitamin D deficiency caused by intestinal malabsorption or
chronic liver disease
Adverse Reaction:
Side effects-
Symptoms of overdosage include
anorexia, lassitude, nausea and vomiting,
diarrhea,constipation weight loss,
polyuria, sweating, headache, vertigo ,
raised concentration of calcium and phosphate
in plasma and urine
Contra-Indications:
Contraindications-
Hypercalcemia, metstatic calcification
Cautions-
Take care to ensure correct dose in infants
Monitor plasma -calcium concentration in patients receiving high doses
and renal impairment

Monitor serum calcium concentration
