Indications-
Prevention of vascular headache including classical migraine,
common migraine and cluster headache
Adverse Reaction:
Side effects-
dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, increased appetite,
weight gain,
less commonly- constipation,
rarely anxiety, aggretion, insomnia, paraesthia, hallucination,,
depression, arthalgia, myalgia,
very rarely- seizures, urticaria, rash, jaundice, hepatitis,
and muscle cramps reported
Contra-Indications:
Cautions-
Urinary retention, susceptibility to angle closure glucoma,
history of epilepsy,
avoid abrupt withdrawal
Driving-
drowsiness may affect performance of skilled tasks( eg.driving)
efforts of alcohol enhanced
Hepatic impairment-
use with cauton
Renal impairment-
use th caution

Indications-
Prevention of vascular headache including classical migraine,
common migraine and cluster headache
Dose-
adult- over 18 years, initially 500micrograms at night increased gradually
to usual dose of 1.5mg at night or in 3 divided dose, may be further increased
up to a maximum daily dose 4.5mg (but rarely necesary)
max single dose - 3mg
child over 5 years- initially 500mg at night increased gradually up to
1.5mg daily in divided doses.
max single dose (at night)- 1mg
Pregnancy and lactation:
Pregnancy-
avoid unless potentialbenefit outweighs risks
Breast feeding-
amount probably too small to be harmful,
but manufacturer advices avoid
