Synergistic effect on angina by beta blkrs.
Reverses depression of cardiac function by beta blkrs.
Reduced plasma levels of quinidine.
Thoephylline and phenytoin raise plasma levels.
Cimetidine increases bio-availability and may potentiate hypotension.

Adverse Reaction:
Cardiovascular collapse in patients with pulmonary hypertension Hypotension,flushing, dizziness, palpitation,headache, parathesias,GI upsets.
Contra-Indications:
Hypertension,poor cardiac reserve,cardiogenic shock,severe aortic stenosis,hypersens.
Special precautions:
Diabetes,pregnancy,elderly,hepatic impairment.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications: Potent Vasodilator which effectively reduces blood pressure Mild to moderate Hypertension
Dosage: 10 to 80mg/day in divided doses.

Pharmacology/ Pharmacokinetics:
Pharmacology:
Structurally similar to Nifedipine. It causes a decrease in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure,primarily due to arteriolar dilatation.
Pharmacokinetics:
Nitrendipine appears to be well absorbed after oral administration. peak serum concentration half-life are seen at 1 or 2 hours; peak effect is seen approximately at 4 hours. The distribution half-life is approximately 1 hour.
Interaction with Food:
None reported, but food may reduce first pass metabolism.
Pregnancy and lactation:
