Drug Interaction:
Potentially Hazardous Interactions: Potentiation with alcohol, Dextro may inhibit the hepatic metabolism of antidepressants.anticonvulsants, and warfarin like drugs
Paracetamol may enhance anticogulant activity Concurrent admin may increase serum levels of carbamazepine and result in hepatotoxicity.
Ritonovir may increase serum levels of dextro when used together CNS effects of dextro is additive with other CNS depressants, including alcohol Concurrent admin with alcohol or paracetamol containing products
Adverse Reaction:
Potentially Life Threatening Reactions:
Convulsions inlong term therapy. Dizziness, sedation, nausea, vomiting, constipation, rash. Psychic dependence.
Accidential or intentional overdose fatal (especially if combined with alcohol, and analgesics such as paracetamol and aspirin).
Contra-Indications:
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, chronic respiratory diseases. Concurrent admin with alcohol
Special Precautions:
Personality disorders ,pregancy, renal/hepatic diseases.
Lactation ,Children Elderly- Dextro may impair mental alertness and co-ordination Not recommended for use in patients who are suicidal or prone to drug dependence

Adult- each caps dextro 32.5mg , para 325mg 2 caps 3-4 times daily Max - 8 caps /day Elderly- dose reduction required
