Sedative or hypnotic
Dosage:
Adults- Day time sedation- 15 to 30mg 3 times a day
Bed time hypnotic- 50 to 100mg
Preoperative sedation- 50 to 100mg,60 to 90 minutes before surgery.
Children- Preoperative sedation- 2 to 6mg/kg: maximum 100mg
Elderly - reduce dosage
Hepatic/renal impairment - reduce dosage
