Benzodiapines include-
Alprozolam, Chlordiazepoxide, Clonazepam, Clorazepate,Diazepam, Halazepam, Lorazepam, Oxazepam,
Prazazepam Refer Diazepam
Potentiation of CNS depressants including alcohol general anaesthestics,narcotic analgesics MAOIs and antidepressants Significantly enhances alcohol,induces impairment of psychomotor skills.
Prolongs half-life of chlordiazepoxide and diazepam.
Indication:
Anxiety disorders.
Benzodiapines include- Alprozolam, Chlordiazepoxide, Clonazepam, Clorazepate,Diazepam, Halazepam, Lorazepam, Oxazepam, Prazazepam Refer Diazepam
Adverse Reaction:
Blood dyscrasias,agranulocytosis. Hepatic damage,drowsiness,headache, Dizziness, nausea,skin rashes, Hypotension,arthritis, Transient excitement/irritabillity, Dry mouth and vomiting.
Contra-Indications:
Children under 12 years.
Special precautions:
Psychosis,myasthenia gravis,acute narrow angle glaucoma, pregnancy and labour.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications:
Anxiety disorders.
Dosage:
Individualise dose.. 15 to 30mg 3 times a day.
Children (6 to 12 years)- not recommended.

1.May cause drowsiness;avoid driving or other tasks requiring alertness.
2.Avoid alcohol or CNS depressants.
3.Do not discontinue the drug abruptly.
