Adverse Reaction:
        
        
            
	Haematologic- dose related bone marrow depression, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia anemia
	GI- nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea of varying severity ( dose related )
	Dermatologic- pruritus, dermatitis, hair loss, ( may or may not be dose related )
	CNS- nervousness, irritability, depression ( may or may be dose related )
	Miscellaneous- hepatotoxicity (rare ) amenorrhoea, azoosperma
        
     
    
    
           
            Patient Information:
        
        
            
	1. May cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, notify physician if these effects persist
	 
	2. Notify doctor of unusal bleeding or bruising , fever, chills, sore throat, cough, 
	   shortness in breath, seizures, lack of menstrual flow, unusual lumps, or masses,
	   flank, joint or stomach pain, sores in mouth or on lips, yellow discoloration 
	   of skin/eyes

	URACIL MUSTARD - SYSTEMIC
	 
	1.Allergies-
	  Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to 
	    Uracil mustard.
	 
	2.Pregnancy- 
	    Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or intend to have children. This medicine
	    may cause birth defects if either the male or female is taking it  at the time of
	    conception or it is taken during pregnancy. Also many cancer medicines may
	    cause sterility which could be permanent.
	    
	     Tell your doctor right away if you think you are pregnant or you become 
	     pregnant while taking this medicine.
	  
	3. Breast-feeding-
	     Tell your doctor if you are breast feeding or if you intend to breast feed during
	       treatment with  this medicine. Breast feeding is not generally recommended 
	      while you are taking it.
	 
	4.Children-   
	    Although there is no specific information about the of  uracil mustard  in children,
	    it  is not expected to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
	   
	5.Older adults- 
	   There is no specific information  about the use of uracil mustard in the elderly
	    
	6. Other medicines-
	    When you are taking uracil mustard, it is especially important that your doctor
	    know  if you are using any  of the following  medicines.
	 
	    Amphotericin or
	    Antithyroid agents or
	    Chloramphenicol or
	    Colchicine or
	    Flucytosine or
	     Interferon or
	    Pilcamycin or 
	    Zidivudine - uracil mustard may increase the concentration of uric acid in the 
	    blood, which these medicines are used to  lower   
	 
	7. Other medical problems-
	   The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of  uracil mustard. 
	   Make sure   you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems 
	   especially-
	 
	   Chicken pox or
	   Herpes zoster or
	   Gout or
	   Kidney stones - uracil mustard may increase levels of uric acid in the body,
	   which can cause gout or kidney stones
	 
	   Infection - uracil mustard can reduce immunity to infection 
	   Kidney disease 
	   Liver disease
