Adverse Reaction:
Drug rash,dizziness, flushing, nausea,drowsiness,
Depression, edema, dry mouth,
Weakness, excitement,
Tremor, confusion, headache.
Patient Information:
Skeletal Muscle Relaxant include- Carisprodal, Chlorphenesin Maleate, Chlorzoxazone,
Chlormezanone, Cyclobenzaprine, Methocarbinol, Metaxalone, Dantrolenes Sodium,
Orphenadrine.
Chlormezanone - Systemic
1.The drug may impair the mental or physical abilities required for the performance of
potentially hazardous tasks such as driving or operating machinery.
2.Avoid alcohol with the drug.
3.Notify physician if skin rash, sore throat or fever occurs.
4.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you are have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
chlormezanone. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic
to any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
5.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans or animals
6. Breast-feeding-
Chlormezanone has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies.
7.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of chlormezanone
in children with use in other age groups.this medicine is not expected
to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
8.Older adults-
Many medicines have not been studied specifically in older people. Therefore,
it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in
younger adults, or if they cause different side effects or problems in older people.
Although there is no specific information comparing use of chlormezanone
in the elderly with use in other age groups is not expected to cause different
side effects or problems than it does in younger adults.
9. Other medicines-
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two
different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur.
In such cases your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions
may be necessary.
When you are taking chlormezanone it is especially important that your doctor
know if you taking any of the especially-
Central nervous system CNS depressants(medicines that causes drowsiness) or
Tricyclic antideporessants( medicines for depression) - concurrent use may
increase CNS depressant effects of either these medications
or chlormezanone
7. Other medical problems-
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of chlomezanone.
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
especially-
Drug absuse or dependence ( or history of) - dependence on chlormezanone
may develop.
Kidney disease or
Liver disease- higher blood levels or chlormezanone may occur, increasing
the chance of side effects
