Indication:
Pharyngitis/tonsilitis
Adverse Reaction:
GI upset, dizziness, nappy rash, Superinfection, genital pruritus Vaginitis Raises AST, ALT Eosinophillia Clostridium difficile asssociated with diarrhea
Contra-Indications:
Special precautions
Renal impairment Mionitor renal function History of GI disease particularly colitis Discontinue with signs of diarrhea Phenylketonuria Hypersensitivity to penicilins Pregnancy Lactation Labour and delivery
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Dosage: Adults- 500mg every 24 hours for 10 days
Children- (2 to 12 years)- 4.5mg/kg/every 12 hours for 10 days
Interaction with Food:
May be taken with meals to reduce GI discomfort
