Eosinophilla, neutropenia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia,

Rise in liver enzymes and blood urea.

Positive Coombs test.

Known hypersens to cephalosporins.

Special precautions:

Hypersens to penicillins.

Pseudomembranous colitis.

Early pregnancy. Lactation.

Use glucose oxidase or hexokinase methods for blood or plasma glucose tests, renal failure.

Indication-

Otitis media       Urinary tract infections

Skin and structure infections

Dosage-

250mg evey 6 hours or 500mg every 12 hours

Uncomplicated urinary tract infections- 500mg every 12 hours Large doses upto 1g 4 times a day may be given for severe or chronic infections
