Refer- Tetracycline
Potentiates methoxyflurane nephrotoxicity. Sodiun carbonate inhibits dissolution in GIT. Interferes with anticoagulant control.
May cause failure of contraception. Antacids, milk and milk products, iron reduce absorption, Interferes with bactericidal effect of penicillins.

Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:

Dosage:
Oral -adults- usual dose 1 to 2g/day in 2 or 4 equal doses..
Mild to moderate infections- 500mg, 2 times a day, or 250mg, 4 times a day. Severe infections- 500mg, 4 times a day. Children(over 8 years of age)- daily dose is 10 to 20mg/lb(25 to 50mg/kg) in 4 equal doses.
Parentral - Adults- The usual daily dosage is 250mg administered once every 24 hours or 300mg given in divided doses at 8 to 12 hour intervals. Children(over 8 years of age)- 15 to 25mg/kg upto a maximum of 250mg single daily injection. Dosage may be divided and given at 8 to 12 hour intervals.
