Dosage-
Adults and children above 14 years of age 200mg daily Children below 1 years 25mg 1-4 years - 50mg 5-8 years - 100mg 9-14 years - 150mg All daily during exposure and for 6 weeks after exposure

PROGUANIL - Systemic
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
proguanil. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic
to any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Proguanil has not shown to cause birth defects or other problems in humans
3. Breast-feeding-
Proguanil passes into breast milk. This medicine is not reported to cause
problems in nursing babies.However, the amount of proguanil that passes
into breast milk is not sufficient to protect the infantfrom malaria
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of proguanil
in children with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected
to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older adults-
There is no specific information comparing use of proguanil in the elderly
with use in other age groups
6. Other medicines-
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
7. Other medical problems-
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems

Kidney problems- patients with kidney problems may have an increased chance
of side effects
