Dosage:
Take with meals.
Give 100mg/day in combination with one or more antileprosy agents..
Patient Information:
1. Take with meals.
2.Clofazine may discolour the skin ,from red to brownish black, as well as discoloring the conjuntivae, lacrimal fluid, sweat, sputum, urine and feces. Skin discolouration although reversible may take several months or years to disappear after the conclusion of therapy.
3. Allergies- Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic raections to clofazimine or other related medicines. Also tell your doctor if youn are allergic to any other substances such as foods, precervatives or dyes.
4. Pregnancy- before you take clofazimine make sure that your doctor knows if you are pregnant or if you become pregnant 5. Breast feeding- clofazimne is not recommended in nursing mothers.
6. Children- no specific information available comparing use in children with use in other age groups. in adults.
7. Elderly- no specific information comparing clindamycin in the elderly with use in other age groups

10. Missed dose- If you miss a dose of this medicine take it as soon as possible. However if it is almost time for your next dose go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Pharmacology:
Clofazimine exerts a slow bactericidal effect on Mycobacterium leprae. It inhibits mycobacterial growth and binds preferably to mycobacterrial DNA.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption rate ranges from 45 to 62% after oral admin. After ingestion of a single 300mg dose, elimination of unchanged drug and its metabolite in urine in 24 hours is negligable. Half-life after repeated doses is estimated to be at least 70days.
