Patient Information:
The patient feel an increase in pain for 2-3 days beginning 2 or 3 days after injection.
Physician may suggest a temporary increase in pain medication until the pain under control
Patient can eat and drink normally and there is no need to avoid alcohol or caffiene unless
advised to do so.
The physician may want to carry out routine periodic blood tests

STRONTIUM CHLORIDE Sr 89 - THERAPEUTIC
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
Bone tumor seeking medications like strontium chloride Sr 89 . Also tell
your doctor if you are allergic to any other substances such as foods,
preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans or animals. However to avoid
exposing the fetus to radiation, stronitium chloride Sr 89 is not
recommended during pregnancy
3. Breast-feeding-
Strontium chloride Sr 89 may pass into breast milk. If you are receiving
radio-pharmaceuticals, it will be necessary for you to stop breast-feeding
4.Children-
Studies on this medicine has been done only in adult patients, and there is no
specific information about use in children.
5.Older adults-
Strontium chloride Sr 89 has been tested in older people and has not shown to
cause different side effects or problems in older people, than in adults.
6. Other medicines-
When you are receiving strontium chloride Sr 89 it is especially important
that your doctor should know if you are using any of the following medicines.
Calcium containing medicines - these medicines may keep the strontium
chloride Sr 89 levels from being taken up by the bone
If you are ever treated with x-rays or cancer medicines- cancer
medicines or radiation therapy may increase the harmful effecs of
strontium chloride Sr 89 on the bone marrow
7. Other medical problems-
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
