Drug Interaction:
Dipvefrin has additive ocular hypotensive effects with other antiglaucoma agents.
Hypotensive effect of epinephrine has been shown to be relatively inhibited by indomethicin.

Adverse Reaction:
Cardiovascular- Tachycardia, arrhytthmias, hypertension. Local- burning, stinging, folicular conjuntivitis, mydriasis, allergic reactions (rare).
Contra-Indications:
Hypersensitivity to dipiverin or any formulation component; narrow-angles of pupil may predispose patient to an attack of angle-closure glaucoma

Dosage:
Initial glaucoma therapy- instil 1 drop into eye(s) every 12 hours.
Patient Information:
1. Slight stinging or burning on instillation may occur.
2. Do not try to "catch up" on missed doses by applying more than one dose at a time.
3. Allergies- Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reactions to dipiverin or epinephrine other related medicines. Also tell your doctor if youn are allergic to any other substances such as foods, preservatives or dyes.
4. Pregnancy- this medication has not been shown to cause birth defects or other problems in animal studies
5. Breast feeding- not known whether dipiverine passes into the breast milk
6. Children- this medicine has not shown to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
7. Elderly- signs and symptoms of overdose may be especialy likely to occur in elderly patients
8. Other medicines- tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following- if you are taking any other non prescription drugs or OTC medicines
9.Other medical problems- tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems- Eye disease or problems =dipiverine may make the condition worse

Pharmacology:
Dipiverin is a prodrug of epinephrine formed by diesterification of epinephrine and pivalic acid. Dipiverin, converted to epinephrine in the eye by enzamatic hydrolysis, appears to act by decreasing aqueous production and enhancing outflow facility.
Pharmacokinetics:
The onset of action with 1 drop occurs about 30 minutes after treatment, with maximum effec t seen at about 1 hour.
