Adverse Reaction:
Insomnia. Dyskinetic movements of tongue, lips face and extremities, Tourettes syndrome. Anorexia, weight loss. Hepatic dysfunction, elevated liver enzymes, hepatitis and jaundice. Skin rash, growth supression
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications: Behaviour syndrome in children, narcolepsy
Dosage: Administer a single dose each morning. Recommended starting dose is 37.5mg /day. Gradually increase at 1 week intervals using increments of 18.75mg until desired response is obtained

PEMOLINE- PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC AGENT
1. Take daily dose in the morning
2. If dizzines occurs, use caution when performing tasks requiring alertness.
3. Notify physician if insomnia occurs and continues.
4. Allergies- Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to Pemoline. Also tell your doctor if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives or dyes.
5.Pregnancy - Pemoline has not shown to cause birth or defects or other problems in humans. Studies on animals givern in large doses of pemoline have not shown that pemoline cause an increase in still births and decreased survival of the off spring after birth.
6. Breast feeding- It is not known whether tacrine passes into breast milk.
7. Children Slow growth rate in childern who received pemoline for a long period of time have been reported. Some doctors recommend drug-free period during treatment with pemoline.

9. Other medicines - Let your doctor know what other medicines you are taking, any other prescription or non-prescription OTC medicine.
10. Other medical problems - Tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems especially - Gilles de la Tourette disorder or other tics or Mental illness or Liver disease- pemoline may make the condition worse Kidney disease- higher blood levels of pemoloine may occur increasing the chance of side efects.
11. Missed dose - If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. however, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double doses.
12. Storage - Keep out of reach of children. Store away from heat or direct sunlight. Do not store the capsule in bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places.
13. Outdated medicines - Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. Be sure that any discarded medicine is out of reach of children.

Pharmacology:
Pemoline is a CNS stimulant. Although structurally dissimilar from the amphetamines and methlphenidate, it has pharmacolgic activity similar that of other stimulants but with minimal sympathomimetic effects.
Pharmacokinetics:
Rapidly absorbed from GI tract. Peak serum level occur within 2 to 4 hours after ingestion of a single dose. The serum half-life is aprox 12 hours.
