Ethanol
Alcoholic beverages consumed concurrently with or upto 72 hours after cefamandole, cefaperazone,moxalactum, or cefotetan may produce acute alcohol intolerance(disulfram-like reaction). The reaction begins within 30 minutes after alcohol ingestion and subside 30 minutes to several hours afterwards.
Anticoagulants
Hypoprothrombinemic effects of anticoagulants increased by cephalosporins with the methyltetrazolethiol side chain (cefamandole, cefoperazone, cefotetan, moxalactum). Bleeding complications may occur. The concurrent use of heparin also theoritically increase the risk of bleeding.

Indications:
Respiratory tract infection
Dosage:
Adults- usual dosage range is 500mg to 1g every 4 to 8 hours, 500mg every 6 hours is adequate for uncomplicated infection.
Infants and children- 50 to 100mg/kg/day in equally divided doses every 4 to 8 hours.
