Indication Type Description:
Drug Interaction:
Neutralises live viral vaccines,hence not to be given for atleast 30 days after dose of immune globulin. Always use I.V. line for immune globulin infusion.

For aplastic anemia
Hepatitis, measles, immunoglobulin deficiency.
Adverse Reaction:
Rare anaphylaxis may occur in patients with selective IgA defeciency or IgA antibodies.
I.M.administartion: Local pain and tenderness at site of injection.Hypersensitivity reaction.
I.V.administration: Fever, chills, facial flushing, headache and nausea.
Contra-Indications:
Hypersens,selective IgA deficien,patients with normal levels of immunoglobulins.Routine prophylaxis of treatment of rubella poliomyelitis mumps or varicella.
Special precautions:
Thrombocytopenia, coagulation disorders in whom I.M. injection contrindicated.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications:
Hepatitis, measles, immunoglobulin deficiency.
Dosage: For IM injections only A dose of 0.02ml/kg is recommended for hepatitis.

1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
intramuscular or intravenous immune globulins. Also tell your healthcare care
professional if you are allergic to any other substances such as foods.
preservatives or dyes.
2.Diet-
Make ceertain your doctor knows if you are on special diet such as
low sodium diet or low sugar diet.
3.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans or animals.
4. Breast-feeding-
Mothers who are taking this medicine and who wish to breast feed should discuss this
with their doctor.
5.Children-
This medicine is not expected to cause different side effects or problems than it
does in adults.
6.Older adults-
This medicine is not expected to cause different side effects or problems
in older people than in younger adults.
7. Other medicines-
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
8. Other medical problems-
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
especially-
Agammaglobulinemia or
Hypogammaglobulinemia - patients with these conditions who have never
received immune globulin substitution therapy or who were last treated
more than 8 weeks may have more side effects to IGIV
Heart problems or
Immunoglobulin A (igA) deficiencies - IGIV may make the condition worse.
